Our Story

Marble Falls Area EMS is non-profit corporation recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It was established in 1976 by a dedicated group of volunteers and has since evolved into into a well-structured organization that includes a cohesive existence between volunteers and career employees. The governance of our organization is entrusted to a volunteer board of directors, which convenes monthly on the fourth Tuesday at our central station in Marble Falls. Comprised of seven members, these directors are elected to serve staggered terms and are responsible for crucial tasks such as policy formulation, training coordination, purchase approval, budgeting, and financial oversight.

The response area of Marble Falls Area EMS encompasses one of the most rapidly growing regions in the United States. Situated in the Highland Lakes area of the Texas Hill Country, this region has become highly sought after by retirees and a thriving hub for business development. Over the years, our department has experienced significant expansion, transforming from a modest team with the first paid paramedic in 1996 to a progressive, professional, community-based emergency medical service. Our commitment to excellence was acknowledged in 2006 when we were honored as the recipient of the "EMS Provider of the Year" award by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Serving a population of approximately 45,000 individuals in Southern Burnet and Southeastern Llano Counties, Marble Falls Area EMS consistently delivers high-quality pre-hospital care. Our service area spans more than 350 square miles, encompassing numerous miles of lake and river shoreline. Consequently, our team encounters a distinctive blend of emergency calls, ranging from rescue and trauma incidents to medical emergencies.

The foundation of Marble Falls Area EMS is deeply rooted in the invaluable contributions of volunteers. Their tireless dedication has shaped our organization into what it is today. Furthermore, we extend our gratitude to the numerous volunteers who generously contribute their personal time to support us during special events.
