Welcome to Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Services
Marble Falls Area EMS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation that was established in 1976 by a dedicated group of volunteers. The service has grown to include a cohesive existence between volunteers and career employees. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors that meets on the third Tuesday of every month at our central station in Marble Falls.
Pre-hospital emergency service is provided by volunteers, twenty-three employees and twenty part-time employees. Currently, we have five MICU (Mobile Intensive Care Unit) capable ambulances and two SUV first responders. These units are housed at stations in Marble Falls, Granite Shoals and Horseshoe Bay. Fire departments in Marble Falls, Granite Shoals, Cottonwood and Horseshoe Bay assist our service in high call volume times as well as rescue situations.
The Marble Falls Area EMS response area is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. The Highland Lakes area of the Texas Hill Country has proved to be a top choice for retirement age citizens as well as a prime location for business development. Over the past ten years, our service has grown from a small volunteer service in Southern Burnet County to a fully paid ambulance service that provides quality pre-hospital care to approximately 35,000 citizens in Southern Burnet and Southeastern Llano Counties. Our service area spans over 300 square miles with many miles of lake and river shoreline which provides our service a unique call mixture of rescue/trauma and medical responses.
Marble Falls Area EMS enjoys full-time medical direction under the license of Dr. Jules Madrigal. Off-line Scope of Care provides our employees the flexibility to practice medicine with clearly defined expectations which provides our patients with quality pre-hospital care that mirrors those of a more urban environment.
Our service is dedicated to provide the highest level of care possible to the residents of the Highland Lakes through continued improvements in education and technology.
